Personal Branding Wars: Does your company claim a stake in your Facebook?

WunderLand Group's Conference Center at (map)

Selected By: Judi Wunderlich

A presentation that ANYONE who is on the web using Twitter, LinkedIn, a Blog, or Facebook for personal AND businesses purposes must see, and for anyone who creates 'intellectual property.'

Tuesday September 22. Arrive between 5 and 6 pm for networking before the presentation.

Personal Branding Wars: Does your company already claim a stake in your personal Twitter, Facebook, or Blog?

So you've got a Facebook page and have friended both work associates as well as your personal friends, and you occasionally post work-related things there. If you leave the company, are they going to try to take your Facebook account away?

You built up your LinkedIn business connections and are proud to have over 5,000 contacts, at least half of them gotten after your company paid for a professional subscriptioin. When you decide to quit your job and join another similar firm and figure all those contacts will help you in your new role, would you be surprised if your former employer tried to gain control of your account?

You tweet on Twitter about personal things to your friends, and one day you gripe about having to work outrageous hours for your employer on a new business pitch to The NoName Company, and that your client there is a total bitch. Think you're speech is protected and you won't get fired, or sued?

Ask Daliah Saper, attorney and principal at Saper Law Offices about such scenarios and be enlightened! Dahlia will also touch on the legal issues around Intellectual Property: Copyrights, Trademarks, Trade Secret protection, Technology and Software protection.
