We will split the 3-day event into a tutorial for newbies and experts (mainly around using Fusion Tables, Tableau, D3), and hackathon for those who want to tool with the data

Workshops, Friday, May 31, 2013 MIXER AT 6:00PM AND THE CHICAGO MIGRAHACK BEGINS!

Developers, meet your Migrahack journalist collaborators and start your engines to fuel one project to hack together. Complete your work by 4:00pm Sunday June 2nd. and present it to the judges and other Migrahack teams.

(We will form the teams and select the topic to hack, during the mixer)

Event Focus: Form a team to build an informative data visualization project (maps, interactive graphic) using open data on immigration.

Data Sets: The organizers will provide the data for the hackathon. The data will be in CSV and Excel formats to speed up the event. Data links also.

Cost: Event is free and we will cover the food, but space is limited. Act quickly to take advantage... We will send the invitation confirmation code via email.
