Big Data + Predictive Analytics = The New Mobile Experience!!

Everyday, more than 500 million tweets and 10 billion Facebook messages are sent, and over 17 billion location-based posts reside on the walls of Facebook users. Those same consumers are contributing to 306+ sales per second on Amazon. Between all of that activity, there is data. . . lots and lots of data.

That data will continue to grow exponentially as the Internet of Things and readily available sensors become commonplace in society. So now that we’ve become experts in collecting every trace of potential data, from peoples’ favorite restaurants to their last online transaction to the date of their next hair appointment, what do we do with it? Enter Contextual Computing.

During this meet-up, our speakers Joe Nedumgottil and Lauren Bachtell will dive into how pervasive computing is enabling contextual computing through the usage of Big Data. They will navigate through the how’s and the why’s of Predictive Analytics and the potential for Big Data to help deliver an invaluable mobile experience to end-users.

This meet-up is a MUST for those interested in Big Data, Predictive Analytics, Contextual Computing, and how the three have already begun to permeate our society, disrupting the way we currently use our mobile devices.

As always, this will be a supportive, fun and informative gathering for people passionate about mobile to meet and share ideas.  We hope to see you there!

If you want something less intense and more practical, try google statistics aspect of data mining. It teaches you how to implement the algorithms in R.

There was too much theory. I would have liked an example of how the hosts employed predictive analytics on a big data set to get a specific result.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
