This is going to be a Bring Your Own Laptop (BYOL) session. We will introduce Sencha Architect and build a small sample app.

I think its fantastic that Art volunteers his time and that CNX Corp hosts the location!
Even though we didn't get through all the material it was great to have an authoritative source show us how to create a Sencha Touch project, have it read from a remote data source and display a rudimentary list using the data.
As a suggestion, perhaps future meet ups could focus on a narrower aspect of developing an application. May be a continuing example that we build upon each meet up. Then at the end of the meet up there would be a homework assignment for each of us to complete for next time.
For example for one meet up we could talk about controllers, why they're needed, what benefits do they offer and how to create and implement one. Then the home work might be to complete the rest of the controller for the application.
Another suggestion, for those that are already using ExtJS, Sencha Touch and/or Architect would be to take a part of something they actually implemented...

(continued from original post)... and explain it to the group. Or if what you've implemented is too proprietary, take the technique and present it in a small demo application.
I'm very interested in hearing about what others are doing with the Sencha tools and would be willing to share what I've done to date even though its rather limited.
Thanks to everyone who came out last night! I hope you learned a little bit about Architect and want to keep playing with it.

Thanks for the feedback, guy!
I wish I had been able to get further in finishing the app - I agree with Robert in that it would have been more beneficial, but questions and technical difficulties took away from our available time.
@Robert I hope you got something out of the presentation, and I hope you'll be back for another meeting. I do appreciate the feedback, and please reach out to me if you would like more information on anything.
I got a lot out of this. Finishing the app wasn't a really big deal to me - the point of the meetup wasn't to build a rudimentary Yelp app but to give people an introduction to Sencha Architect.
As they say in textbooks - we'll leave completing the app as an exercise.
Thanks to CNX for hosting.

I think Art would appreciate constructive criticism. I think Art is great as was the meeting.
You need to be able to actually finish the planned material. Not much use in going half way.
These meetups have limited time and they're free. Art should be thanked for contributing his time to the community.
Good. I learned alot
hope to be there to meet people, network and learn more about Sencha Architect.
