The purpose of this group is to connect designers/aspiring designers together to sandbox and explore concepts in boardgaming today. We're working on building a tightly knit group of peers, and then connecting our group with other design groups in the Chicagoland area and beyond.
Chicago is the Toy and Game capital of the world! Some things you should know, and reasons to take pride in being a Chicago area inventor:
· The American Library Association—based in Chicago—has the largest gaming initiative in the world.
· Glass, the largest toy and game inventing company in history, was founded in Chicago in 1941. They were responsible for such household toys as Mouse Trap, Rock'Em Sock'Em Robots, Operation, Lite Brite, Ants in the Pants and SIMON. This company resulted in Spinoffs, Big Monster Toy (78% of households have a big monster product) and Lund & Co.
· Chicago is the only city to host the Toy and Game Inventor of the Year Awards and Dinner as well as the only City with a non-hobby toy and game fair open to the public – The Chicago Toy and Game Fair.
There are more reasons than I can fit! Thanks to Mary Couzin, Mike Hirtle and Bruce Lund for the research!

“ Inventors need a support group. I feel much better about my obsession to get my game ideas licensed. I now know I am not alone. :-) ”
