About Chicagoland Boardgame Designers

We're a mix of professionals, amateurs and inspired game players in the Chicagoland area, coming together to share ideas and inspire each other to create better games.

This group meetings will be focusing more on game mechanics, history and industry. Playtesting will not be a major focus of the group meetings themselves, except to the length required to properly demonstrate a complex mechanic or variation on a mechanic. We are trying to build a mix of sandbox and symposium, where everyone brings something to the meeting and everyone leaves having learned something more about the processes that lead from concept to the shelf.

Meetings will be held on a monthly basis, with members being encouraged to contact each other and share knowledge outside of the group.
