"Tired of networking events that don't give you a chance to be introduced to everyone in a professional, useful way?"
UPDATE -
This event is Full and there is a Waiting List.
If you are unable to attend, we are holding the same event the following week:
Mon, 7/19 in Oak Park near Lake Street & Harlem Ave,
with nearby parking and Metra & Green Line access.
Details and RSVP here:

It's really important to know who is in the room when you attend an event - who you can help and who can help you.
That's why we'll be going around the circle and giving everyone a chance to give a 30-second introduction, as we always do at our events.
But this time we are going to take that a step further.
We tried this format at our May Meetup in Oak Park (http://www.meetup.com...) and everyone said THEY LOVED IT. So we're brining it to Chicago...
"SMALL BIZ SPOTLIGHT NETWORKING & PRESENTATIONS"
We are going to invite 5 members to each give a 5-minute presentation.
This will be done by random drawing of the attendees that are present and want to participate as a SpotLight Small Biz.
If you would like the chance to give a 5-minute presentation at our Meetup, just let us know when you arrive, and we will put your name into the drawing.
FREE EVENT
Yes, our Meetups are still FREE.
How many quality free business networking events in Chicago can you find? :)
LOCATION, FOOD & DRINK SPONSORS
Urban Balance, LLC is our host for the evening.
Thank you to our member Joyce Marter for donating a great space for our use and providing drinks!
Available Systems Inc. is graciously providing food. (Did someone say pizza?!)
Thanks to another newer member, Zachary Cook for being our Food Sponsor!
EVENING AGENDA
5:30pm - 6:00: Informal Networking, Mixing & Mingling
6:00 - 7:00: Group Introductions & Small Biz SpotLight Presentations
7:00 - 7:30pm: Informal Networking, Mixing & Mingling
GUIDELINES FOR SPOTLIGHT PRESENTATIONS
If you are one of the lucky presenters, your objective is to give great value to the audience on a topic that shows us your expertise. For example:
- Solve a problem for our small business owners.
- Highlight a solution that will stop keeping them up at night.
- Give a Top 10 List of valuable resources.
- Any other ideas are welcome that will provide a helping hand to the audience.
** DO NOT give a 5-minute commercial. **
If you do, you will be asked to shift gears and continue with educational material, or skip your turn.
That said, of course it's OK to let the members know how to contact you, etc. But the main point here is to teach something new, intriguing and genuinely helpful as a way to build relationships, network and wow us!
If you do not want to present but just want to enjoy the other presentations, that's OK too. Being a SpotLight Small Biz is optional.
If you DO want to present that evening, please have a topic and brief outline prepared before-hand, so you aren't just "winging it" if you are chosen. This is a great opportunity to shine, and you don't want to waste it.
