QS Show & Tell #17 - Cubii, Roller Coasters, and Boxing

  • August 28, 2014 · 6:00 PM

After a long summer hiatus (Mark has been traveling) we're bring back the meetup on August 28th at our old stomping grounds of 1871.

We'll have Arnav speak to us about Cubii, a Chicago QS company that used kickstarted to gross nearly 4x their desired goal (as well as get featured all over the Chicago tech scene). We'll then have two accelerometer stories - Chris with his experience bringing an accelerometer with him to Six Flags, and Lyu who placed an accelerometer on his boxing gloves.

UPDATE! Lyu cannot make it so we'll have a replacement third speaker. Sorry guys!!!

All three have been members for a long time, and Chris and Lyu are actually repeat speakers so my own expectations are quite high.

We'll be in the IMSA room at 1871, which is inside the Merchandise Mart. When you enter, tell the security guard in the lobby that you are going to the 12th floor. When exiting the elevator, walk toward the bright 1871 sign. Once inside 1871, take a right at the first hallway and you'll see a sign for our meetup. Call Eugene's cell at[masked] if you have any troubles.

Finally, I'd like to take a moment to introduce Brian Martinek to our organizing team. You can send him all of your comments, questions, compliments, and complaints. But seriously, he's had some excellent ideas about what we can do in the future, so keep your ears open.

See everyone on the 28th!

Eugene

    Hi QS-ers,

My student UX team is researching for a great new personal data analytics app, and we'd love to hear your thoughts. Would you mind helping us out by filling out this 2-minute survey? We appreciate your input.

The other link didn't work for me for some reason, so trying this one.

Kevin talked about the software You Need a Budget at the meetup last week. I just saw that AppSumo is running a special for it 50% off for next two days: http://www.appsumo.com/~bWUPc/

Awesome share Brian. I am thinking about starting a 'budget club at my new HS, and this will help with expenses.

Please note the update to the description - Lyu can't make it so we'll have a replacement speaker.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
