November Chicago R User Group Meeting

As promised at the last meeting, the November Chicago R User Group meeting is going to be all about getting started with R. This is the perfect opportunity for experienced R users to share some wisdom with beginners and a great chance for you to ply your Excel loving colleague with beer and help them see that getting started with R is just not that hard. Not only is this the announcement of the meeting, it's also the call for presenters. The format is going to be a series of lightening talks (< 7 minutes) appropriate for folks who have been using R less than a year.
Here are some suggestions for presentation themes:

My usage of R greatly increased as soon as I learned how to do X.
These are suggestions but if you have a great R presentation idea that doesn't fit these design patterns, don't let that slow you down.
Send your presentation proposal directly to me at jdlong@gmail.com and I'll put together a program that minimizes redundancy and maximizes the FTW/WTF ratio (using DEoptim, naturally).
I anticipate this meeting to be one of the largest and best we've had in Chicago. I'm looking forward to seeing you in November!
