This is a support, development, and practice meetup for children and teens ages 4 through 17 (may be divided into two groups) and their parents.
Are you the parent of a child who does not "fit the norm?"
Has your child been labeled: ADD, ADHD, autistic, Asberger syndrome, special needs...or even lazy, daydreamer, or unfocused?
This is only a partial list of the labels schools, doctors, and other parents have used to indicate a child is "different" in some way that, perhaps, carries a negative connotation or judgment.
But ALL labels are limiting! Even when we use more positive terms such as gifted, gifted and talented, special, Indigo children, Crystal children, Star children, etc., we place the child in a box and limit that child through our own expectations and understanding of the meaning of that label.
EVERY child is unique and gifted in some way.
The organizers of Children of the Light use a non-judgmental, non-limiting approach that honors, supports, and develops each child's individual potential. We are parents, grandparents, teachers, and professionals who use their own gifts to help others.
Children (and parents) who may be struggling with the issues that come with being perceived as "not fitting the norm" or as being "different" in some way, will find support, understanding, shared experiences, and specific ways to deal with the challenges and opportunities that will enable them to go from "being different" to "making a difference.
ALL children are welcome....for ALL children are unique and individual. Children with physical, physiological, emotional, neurological challenges, along with their parents, may find their peers have highly effective suggestions regarding coping, and THRIVING in a way that honors who they are. Children who are highly intuitive, empathic, or have psychic gifts are invited to work with professionals who not only share these gifts but are experienced in working with children as well as adults.
The "classes" include open discussions, teaching, and supporting those who are facing the emotional challenges that come with having skills and gifts not always understood by those around them.
As we go forward with classes, children will be given exercises to practice their gifts and gain mastery of them.
