Food Sorting at Second Harvest Food Bank
Details
Give back to the community and volunteer at Second Harvest Food Bank!
15 volunteers needed.
Bring a friend and volunteer for a great cause! Second Harvest has become one of the largest food banks in the nation, providing food to nearly a quarter of a million people each month. We'll be helping to sort and package food to those in need. Our shift is from 6PM-8PM.
Volunteer requirements from their website:
"Volunteers are extremely important to the Food Bank and we are grateful for all your time, hard work, and support in the fight against hunger. But there are a few simple rules we ask that you follow to make the most of your time.
Print & sign the following and bring with you to the event: https://www.shfb.org/docs/volunteer/vol_agreement.pdf
Please arrive no sooner than 10 minutes before and no later than 10 minutes after your scheduled sorting shift time.
Comfortable, safe footwear is absolutely required: sneakers, work shoes, or boots. Volunteers wearing high heels, open-toed shoes, or sandals will not be allowed to volunteer."
More warehouse rules here: https://www.shfb.org/volunteerrequirements
Please bring donations of non-perishable food items. High protein items such as tuna and peanut butter are greatly appreciated or meals in a can like stew and soups. One can or one case does make a difference!
Please update your RSVP at least 24 hours before the event.
Please RSVP only if you can attend. With only a few spots, we don't want to waste any spots. Please do not no-show, "crash" or come unprepared.
