?There?s a lot of fascinating information in this documentary on laughter, from an examination of the evolutionary biology of humour to interviews with the people who provided the laugh track to The Nanny. There?s also a bit with a doctor who prescribes laughter rather than, you know, stuff that works. I?m writing this with a rising fever, and I can tell you that if someone suggested I pop on a Benny Hill DVD instead of swallowing decongestants to keep my lungs from filling with fluid, I?d laugh until my swine flu got in their eyes. But then again, I?m no doctor. Or laughologist. But clearly, this is not a documentary to be taken too seriously. If nothing else, it made me laugh, and though my fever is still rising, I?m a little happier about it.??Al Kratina, Montreal Gazette.
