What is SpaceBit?

SpaceBIT - first Cryptocurrency aimed to support Space exploration, a vision of several prominent researchers coupled with experience of people from corporate environment who have worked for many years in the area of electronic money and digital technologies. Virtual currencies have become increasingly interesting to investors and financial market participants. The prospect of commercialisation of Space has potential to advance Space exploration, infrastructure, access and terrestrial applications. Our currency will support specific space missions and university-level projects that have a potential to generate IP. Our vision

We strongly believe in a new age which would encompass activities related to the Space commercialisation, new Space technology as well as the cultural developments influenced by these events. We think that Space currency can be one of the milestones in achieving that goal. People who will support the currency with Bitcoins get part of SpaceBIT Cryptoequity and, similar to Kickstarter, some instant gratification. It is decentralised, democratic and auditable.

When is it launched?
Total number of available coins is 100 Million SpaceBITs. Starting on 11 July, SpaceBit will make 15 million coins available in a limited-time crowd sale running until 31 of September. Every holder of SpaceBIT coin will share in the success of future projects that we fund. We plan to release additional 25 Million Coins when we launch a first SpaceBIT backed satellite into Space.
