MEDICINE PREPARATION

So I have this plant, that I hear does some pretty interesting things, how do I use it? Teas? Tinctures? Syrups? The way you prepare plants determines how they will work with your body. In this hands on workshop, we will talk about some of the most common forms of plant medicine and make a few remedies while we're at it. Please bring 2 empty baby jars so you can take some home with you!

All our workshops are brought to you in partnership with Sacred Vibes Apothecary, a Brooklyn based community herbal apothecary owned by Master Herbalist, Karen Rose. Sacred Vibes guides and supports people in creating a lifestyle that reconnects them to their unique and authentic divine self. Our mission is to enlighten all to live transcendent lives through natural healing, beauty, and education. All workshops will be facilitated by the apprentices of Sacred Vibes Apothecary.

So that we can make sure to have enough materials for everyone, please RSVP to: [masked]

Great turnout and participation! 33 people showed up tonight! And many stayed after the end of the workshop to ask questions of the presenters and also how to become involved in the garden.

I talked to some of you about the movement to create a NYC chapter of the American Herbalist Guild. Well, the date for the next planning meeting has been set for August 7th. I hope you can all come! We're still working out the particulars of the agenda, but we hope to have it be a practical meeting for learning something new about an herb/making medicine, in additional to finishing up the administrative work of making the group official. You can find the event on the "Suggested Events" tab. I need 2 more RSVPs to make it official! http://www.meetup.com/City-Farming-NYC/events/131021902/

This was an awesome event! I couldn't believe how many people showed up! I really liked that we got to break up into small groups for hands-on learning. I really got some great tips on medicine-making and links to educational websites from talking to other participants as well as the group leaders. :) I can't wait for the next one--and I really hope you repeat the one on women's health that I missed!

Thanks for the positive feedback!!! Glad you enjoyed the workshop and the information was very helpful to you. I will definitely look into the possibility of repeating the workshop on women's health since many like yourself have been asking.
