Sabotage [US title: The Woman Alone] (1936) is a British espionage thriller directed by Alfred Hitchcock and stars Sylvia Sidney, Oskar Homolka, and John Loder. It is loosely based on Joseph Conrad's novel The Secret Agent. It should not be confused with Hitchcock's film Secret Agent, also released in 1936. I believe this was the only Alfred Hitchcock movie that included a contribution from Walt Disney.

A ring of saboteurs is causing havoc in London with a series of explosive terrorist attacks. Karl Verloc (Oscar Homolka) is part of the group, but he maintains a cover as a kind movie theater owner. His wife (Sylvia Sidney) is beginning to suspect something, though, and so is Scotland Yard Detective Sgt. Ted Spencer (John Loder).

Running Time: 76 minutes

This is the second movie of our Summer of Hitchcock. During June, July, and August we will have meetups for about twelve Hitchcock movies form the 1930s, '40s, '50s, and '60s.
