Semantic Analysis of C#

Details

Topic: Semantic Analysis of C# by Ben Clifford (Coverity (http://www.coverity.com/))

Description:
Static analysis shouldn’t be about finding pounds of coding style or standard issues. It should be focused on finding the most critical – potentially crash causing defects. In this session we’ll explore advances in modern static analysis technologies and sophisticated modeling techniques which improve the accuracy of analysis and in some cases reduces the number of findings. We’ll explore specific types of common defects including resource leaks and concurrency issues and contrast them with coding style issues found by FX Cop. We’ll discuss best practices for implementing semantic analysis into the SDLC.
