How to Find Pizza in New York City

Jared Lander will walk through an analysis of customer review data to determine what variables influence the popularity of pizza shops in New York City.  Learn about exploratory data analysis procedures using ggplot2 and building and analyzing models in R.

Jared is the co-organizer of the New York Open Statistical Programming Meetup.  He is also the owner of JP Lander Consulting, an adjunct professor at Columbia University, and the author of an upcoming book, R for Non-Statisticians.  Learn more about Jared from his website - http://www.jaredlander.com/about/.

Meeting will take place in the Donahue Auditorium of the Dolan Science Center. Attendance will be open to the greater Cleveland statistical community.  John Carroll University's chapter of the honorary mathematics society, Pi Mu Epsilon, will be co-hosting the event.  Food and drink will be provided.

Unfortunately, as I am not originally from Cleveland and I don't have a GPS, John Carroll University proved impossible to find. That traffic circle is unpleasant-- trying to get off at North Park Boulevard, twice I found myself at the Hathaway Brown school. Though at first glance, at night, it may look large enough to be a small University, it is unfortunately a private school for children. It's a shame that there wasn't better signage for John Carroll, or I would be there enjoying the talk now. I'm sorry I missed it!

Regarding directions to JCU: We recently changed our street address. The new address is 1 John Carroll Blvd., University Heights, OH 44118 the old address was: 20700 North Park Blvd., University Heights, OH 44118 The old address might work better in GPS programs until they catch up. I apologize for the confusion. Tom

20700 North Park might work better for GPS, but once you get there, the street sign says John Carroll Blvd.

Hey all, sorry I missed it! Sounds phenominal.

Are you able to give out copies of Jared's slides or code? I'm super interested in this.

    See you all soon,
    Rob

Great presentation. I loved that Jared went from his presentation to giving an overview of RStudio, knitr, and Pandoc!
