Re: [webdesign-396] New MySQL Meetup

Well the meetup yesterday with Sun and MySQL was a success. Got to talk to them
about the direction they are going to take their meetup. Essentially they would like to
work with other groups, ours, the php meetup, any FOSS meetups that start (I've been
preparing to start a foss meetup for a while...). If their meetup remains small, they would
be willing to fold it into another meetup, and potentially even sponsor that meetup.
While I am not looking for financial assistance paying the meetup fees, it would be
nice to have their resources in other areas...

For instance they can help us with speakers, both related to MySQL and other Web
topics. Additionally they are interested in participating in an Unconference. I'll let yall
have details as they come in.

Kind Regards,
Joseph James Frantz

Howdy Yens!

Alright this is pretty cool. I just talked to Jay Pipes from Sun out in Independence.
He's created a MySQL Meetup and the first meeting is tonight at 6:00pm. I might
be attending (going to try my dangedest of course....). If you've been considering
attending our MySQL workshops in September, this might be an excellent meetup
for you to join. I've already talked to Jay about cross pollinating and he's well
interested in supporting our efforts, and I'm interested in supporting theirs.

Many Kind Regards,
Joseph James Frantz
