We've had a great response to this Saturday's planning session. 12 folks so far. I believe one more person might be coming from my office. That leaves 7 available slots (keeping it limited to 20 people). Several folks have mentioned about the level of involvement. I think any of us can contribute as little or as much as we want and our time allows. Hopefully we can keep the participation at a level that we can all manage without being encumbered. Of course we will review ideas on this more on Saturday.
We'll be meeting at 4pm at Caribou. I've already let them know we're coming. They'd like it if a few of us ordered something, but they are not sticklers on it. I'm more than happy to pay for coffee, tea, cocoa or smoothies all around. But I wont buy cappuccinos, I refuse. :). For any of us that end up staying later, we might head down to BW3's for some beers or something. Not sure many of yall will do that, but its there nonetheless.
Don't forget your laptops.
Also the domains are up http://www.clevelandwebstandards.org/
with the .com 301ing to there also. (Thanks to Brendan for explainin 301 to me.) I'm working on the aggregator software just so I have an understanding of it. And then hopefully on Saturday we can install the Vanilla forum. Then we'll take the rest from there.
For those of yall that wont be coming this saturday, if you'd like your blog aggregated please send me an email. Blogs don't have to be technical in nature. If we end up creating a couple of aggregators, I'll put each persons blog in the most pertinent list. If you've got friends out of town, we might be creating an aggregator for 'friends of cleveland web standards'. Or if you know of blogs specific to web standards, that might be a separate list also. Naturally we'll write the blogger and ask for permission to aggregate their blog. I think company blogs might be ok as well. We'll review this more on saturday. Either way just email me any blogs you'd like to be considered (member blogs would automatically be accepted).
Any ideas also are welcome, again just email them to me. For more information on the event go here:http://webdesign.meetup.com/396/calendar/6351479/
Thanks kindly and best regards yall,
Joseph James Frantz
