A model for (city block) farm&food share. walkto farms

Current food systems produce 30%+ CO2 greenhouse gas. Producing a portion of your food and eating locally-grown can drop this footprint 50-70% in a few years. Victory gardens of yesterday took leadership and a war. Today, we have the frog-in-the-beaker war-ming with cynical leadership. Let me offer an interactive dialog to personal connection with your piece of earth. Bring soil, rough sketch and your enthusiam to regenerate collaboration as it might with your neighbors. I will demonstrate easy and efficient food-garden design. MY PLANT KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE GROWING FOOD as an Urban Permaculturist will be revealed with keystone plants that have time-tested success, proven to grow on a given site. I'm one, with 25 years in Wallingford, Seattle now presenting for the mission of creating Walkto victory gardens-in every city block and every mile in suburbia because we can. Growing food close is making food secure as well.
With a truck full of wildlife plants, edibles in the range of treefruits, berries, vines and annual/perennial and herbs, this diverse assortment of plants will seed your location(s) with possibilty.
One 'lesson' will be making a fruit tree by "grafting"-how 95% of fruit trees are produced. Disease-free and unique our plants abundantly provide-take home an espalier/living fence for fruit production of supurb fruit. Remember extension agents? I do and I offer that consistency in support. We need to collaborate.
Gil Schieber, maestro at the Good Shepherd Center for 25 years has his BS in Horticulture and spreads his obsession with plant material in arms. He also has a CSA with volumes of organic fruit and vegetables to share, please consider supporting this local farm. website arriving in February www.walktofarms.com
Sample food from the farm will be available as snack.
Farm tour on Saturday the 16th

Meeting place is at the Seattle Tilth Garden Brick walk in the back.
