Assault on Mt Mitchell

There has been some mention of stepping up group activity to include more advanced rides. I think it is a natural progression and many of you have shown great improvement in your ride ability. Last year I was going to do the Assault on Mt Mitchell before my tragic accident caused me to miss it. I have not given up on it and plan to try again in 2013.
This is a unique ride that is a point to point century. You will start in Spartanburg SC and finish on top of Mt Mitchell. It is well supported and well run. The ride takes place Monday May 20th, 2013. It will involve a Sunday night stay over in Spartanburg.

All members get the first shot at signup. The ride sells out every year.
Having done the ride 5 times in my distant history, I know there is much to prepare and train in order to have an enjoyable summit. I will host training rides through the spring including at least one trip to ride from Marion to the top.
