For people interested in Clojure. Need I say more? It's been six months since this group formed, I think a meetup is in order. cheers... Amr

Awesome meetup! Great group of people with excellent mix of skillsets! It was great to meet you all!
Loved the impromptu talks! Thanks for coming everyone, and Thanks to Dann for conducting an awesome agenda/brainstorming session re: upcoming meetups and directions!
Looking forward to the next meetup already! :)

Great start. Great bunch of people. Some of the heating fans made it a little difficult to hear at times but otherwise a nice venue.

Excellent, a really good start to what I'm sure is going to be a great group
I'm running super late, are you guys still there? I can make it in 2 if Ttc agrees :-)

I meant in 20min :-P
We're still here!
Hey Everyone! I'm excited about our first meetup this evening at 6:30pm at Bento Miso. Look forward to seeing y'all there. :)

I was talking with a few friends about jump starting the local Clojure community, and one of them sent me a link to this group where you're doing the same thing!
I've booked Bento Miso for next Tuesday at 6:30. If that time works for you then let's all get together and figure out what everyone is interested it: I'm up for hosting hack nights, speaker nights, pair programming sessions, and community outreach projects to bring more people into the Clojure world. It looks like this meetup is perhaps more focused on the social side, and I'd love to hear those ideas too (and possibly play host to them, if you like the space).
See you soon!

Dann, this is a great idea! I was going to Dann, this is a great idea! I was going to propose something central/downtownish after the cold spell, but Bento Miso is a excellent location as well!
And personally, I would like this meetup to be exactly as you described, i.e., a vehicle for socializing AND learning clojure which I'm really interested in. So, I'm in. If you don't mind I will change the time/location for this meetup and we can all meet there and get to know each other and decide on directions etc.

Sounds great! I'm looking forward to meeting all of you.
Hi Dann, can you please confirm that the event is free of charge for participants! Thanks. Amr.

Yes, it definitely is free. I've got nothing against paid events if there's a reason, but as much as possible I keep everything I host free, open, and welcoming. Miso provides coffee and tea; BYOsnacks.
Awesome! thanks again for taking the initiative on the venue and meeting details.
Since we have about 7 RSVP's let's decide on a place for a first meet n greet and maybe we can decide on an actual event?
I'm think a bar. With Beer. Downtown. Toronto.

Thanks Amr for getting things in motion! I agree with a beer social as a kick off, where we can discuss how to move things forward.

A GitHub-style 'drink-up'? I'm open on Friday evenings, if weather permits. Or a Saturday lunch-type thing.
I'm not sure what a "github style" is but as long as it's a "drink-up" I'm game :) ... also friday evenings are good with me too.

If this happens, and I can make it, I might actually have a (slightly humorous) talk to present....
0 · February 16, 2014
Yawar, if you RSVP to the invite, it will be announced to the group. We can figure out where to do the talk if there is enough interest?

Ah, I thought I had RSVP'd thanks to the 'Yes' button being bright red and the 'No' button being grayed out. Looks like an early sign of regressing to a computer n00b.
