jclouds, Whirr and CloudStack - the Apache Java Cloud Projects Play Together!

Details

Andrew Bayer is the build and dev tools architect at Cloudera. He's been a major contributor to Jenkins, the leading CI server, and in the last couple years has become very involved with cloud API work. He's currently serving as VP, Apache Whirr, is one of the PPMC members for the Apache jclouds incubating project, and has done extensive internal tooling using Whirr and jclouds on top of CloudStack.

Title: jclouds, Whirr and CloudStack - the Apache Java cloud projects play together!

Description: CloudStack isn't the only cloud-related project at Apache - it's not even the only Java-based one! jclouds, the JVM library for interacting with and abstracting a multitude of cloud APIs and providers, joined the Incubator this spring, and Whirr, a library and CLI tool for provisioning, configuring and running complicated distributed systems across multiple hosts, has been in Apache for a few years, and itself uses jclouds! So how can you use jclouds and Whirr with CloudStack? I'll show you some examples, and I'll answer your questions about how the projects relate to each other.

Thank you to SAP Labs and CumuLogic for sponsoring the third CloudStack meetup!

Pizza and refreshments will be provided by SAP Labs.
