Stacktician started off as an exercise to try and execute CloudFormation templates on CloudStack, thus attempting to bridge the gap between CloudStack ecosystem and other cloud ecosystems. Since then, it has developed into a full-fledged solution for CloudStack to execute CloudFormation-style templates - complete with its own grammar, support for all CloudStack user resources, and helper scripts to bootstrap and configure resources. A RESTful API layer on top of it has allowed for easy integration. This talk will demonstrate the working of the tool and touch upon some of the challenges faced while executing pure CloudFormation templates, thatled to the development of a CloudStack-specific solution. In addition, itwill shed some light on features we wish to implement going forward,including better interoperability with other cloud platforms

About Amogh

After graduating with a Masters in Computer Science from Stanford, I have been working with Citrix on the CloudStack project. Previously, I was employed at Yahoo in India for about 2.5 years working on Hadoop and related technologies. I am currently working on building products at a layer above CloudStack to enable businesses to adopt and migrate easily to CloudStack. Additionally, I have been working on security related fixes for CloudStack. I recently gave a talk and a hands-on session on DevCloud at a meet-up in the Bay Area, and have given multiple talks on Hadoop within Yahoo and once invited by Cisco.
