Would the Founding Fathers of the United States of America agree that we have lost our way? Have we strayed so far from this country’s founding principles and values that we are headed towards the same oppression that the Founding Fathers fought to end?

A new era in American history was instantly born on September 11, 2001. The day following the destruction of the twin towers, 9/12, citizens united in a way that most of us had never before experienced. The country that we love was under attack. Citizens became connected by strong feelings of disbelief, grief, and anger. Patriotic bumper stickers filled our highways and patriotic songs filled our airways. Basic American freedoms were no longer taken for granted.

Our freedoms continue to be under attack. This time, it is not only from unwelcome terrorists. The very politicians that we have elected and entrust to uphold the Constitution of the United States are disregarding the wisdom laid down by our Founding Fathers. WE THE PEOPLE must have our voices heard, we must engage, and we must continue to follow the direction provided by our Founding Fathers. We must unite again to defend our freedoms......as we did on 9/12.
