ClubTED presents “Can democracy exist without trust?” by Ivan Krastev

This is the make up session for the Sandy disrupted November event.

Ivan Krastev, a theorist and chair of the Centre for Liberal Strategies, in Sofia, Bulgaria, thinks about democracy -- and how to reframe it.

Five great revolutions have shaped political culture over the past 50 years, says Ivan Krastev. He shows how each step forward -- from the cultural revolution of the ‘60s to recent revelations in the field of neuroscience -- has also helped erode trust in the tools of democracy. As he says, "What went right is also what went wrong." Can democracy survive?

This was my first event, and it was INTENSE! People hold very passionate debates here--it's not for the shy or faint of heart! I learned a lot and can't wait for the next one. :) I do hope, though, that there will be more girls next time; the testosterone was a bit overwhelming.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
