Tarry Water & Twisty Roads (KSU 10:30A San Gregorio or 9:30A HMB Coffee Co)

Join us for another excursion through the amazing forests of the Santa Cruz mountains. We'll be exploring some of the best roads of the range, including Lobitos Creek, Higgins Canyon, Stage Rd, Pescadero Rd then arriving at Tarwater Trailhead off of Alpine Road. The fun is just beginning though, for we'll trade riding gear for hiking boots and continue with a 4.5 mile round-trip hike to Tarwater Creek. We'll see the natural tar bubble up into the water, making fascinating shapes and swirls. The loop takes ~ two hours, or much less as you may double-back at any time. The ride/hike will end back at the trailhead where we will go our separate ways home.

If you would like coffee/breakfast meet at HMB Coffee Co by 9A (KSU at 9:30A) Otherwise we'll see you at the San Gregorio General Store (KSU 10:30A). Bring 32oz water if you go on the full hike, snacks, hat (only 3/4 mile is exposed to sun), the remainder is Redwood Forest) and a way to secure gear (e-mail me if you need ideas).
