Orlando Data Day

Innovative local governments in major tech cities have utilized open government data to create useful tools for their citizens. Code for Orlando's primary goal is to help the City of Orlando establish a comprehensive Open Data policy to empower citizens to use that data to improve the wellbeing of the of the City's citizenship.

On January 31st, Code for Orlando is partnering with our local government to bring together developers, designers, community activists, data gurus, and government officials for a day civic hacking. Open Data Day is Code for Orlando's first open data coding event. Our goal is to start several open source projects using data that's currently available from the City and show that there's a community of citizens willing and able to build applications with this data.

This event is the first step in Code for Orlando's plan to help the City establish an Open Data Policy. Participation is free and lunch will be provided. If you plan to attend the event please RSVP.
