What is civic hacking?

Don't let the name fool you, "civic hacking" is when like-minded people get together to improve their community and government by sharing ideas and then working together to build solutions using technology. If you're interested in working with other civically engaged residents on solutions, you're a civic hacker.

Do I need to have technical skills?

No! We do need developers, but to build civic applications that change lives, we need everyone--people with subject matter expertise from local government, the nonprofit sector, marketing, communications, design, etc. But most importantly, we need civically engaged residents. In other words, we need you!
