Hack Night & Skill Share: Git & GitHub

  • July 10, 2013 · 7:30 PM
Come participate in our narrowing down of priorities
for the Trails Mapping application! Before Torrie teaches members on how to use Git and
GitHub, we'll be voting on priorities based on Jon's
detailed documentation of the app's functionality.

After we vote on priorities we will have a Skill Share presentation on Git & Github for those interested in a separate area.

Git & Github Presentation:

Many developers have heard about Git as a version control system, but some have still not taken the chance to give it a shot. In this Skill Share session, Torrie will be demonstrating how to install Git locally on your machine (Windows, Mac, and Linux -- please us me know what you are using in the comments), general concepts, and how to clone and fork an open-source project from GitHub to work on locally. These are important concepts that help you contribute back to open-source projects

We'll have a delayed start - 7:30pm to allow for weather to clear

This is now CANCELLED due to flooding around the area where we are meeting. I will reschedule!

Guys, please be safe, may have to postpone the meeting. Please do not drive if it seems unsafe and stay on radar!

Let's call a one hour delay on this - I see radar clearing up around 6:30pm in Cleveland and clearing Akron at 7, so 7:30 should allow for travellers to make it here.

This meet was scheduled for the first Wednesday in April, but I think we best schedule it once there is more interest in this particular topic.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
