Kim McCoy Wade is chief of the CalFresh Branch at the California Department of Social Services. In this talk, which she will also be giving at the Code for America Summit in November, Kim will share how CalFresh (formerly Food Stamps) is using technology to achieve its program goals, what's needed to spur innovation in government, and what can get in the way.

Kim is responsible for the largest CalFresh (also known as SNAP) program in the country, providing 4.4 million Californians with food assistance each month, as well as the SNAP Outreach, Nutrition Education and Employment & Training programs.
