Pilsen because growing up, that's where we used to go to church and eat out at NUEVO LEON RESTAURANT, the best family-owned Mexican restaurant in Chicago (and affordable, too). Sunday trips from the north to the south side of town were always fun. They also have great coffee.
I'm adventurous. However, without a car and a lot of spare time, I am limited to only city locations and possibly some nearby suburbs (depending on commuting time).
Unpretentious STAR LOUNGE COFFEE BAR @ 2521 West Chicago Avenue. I love supporting small, local businesses. Owner, Jesse Diaz, started roasting beans in a $7 popcorn. Today, this coffee bar is one of ZAGAT's "10 Coolest Independent Coffee Shops Across the US.
