We work under the principles that there are three key elements to start with that will create a successful startup: good people, a product the market actually wants, and money (either by spending as little money as possible or having access to enough money to it see through to customer interaction). Startups that fail at any one of these three key elements will likely fail. But all three are doable. And that’s what makes startups so exciting – they may be hard but they are doable.

Cofounder Club is all about the first key element, namely, getting good cofounders. Paul Graham said it aptly when he said “The idea doesn't matter to us as much as the people. So the best thing any individual [co-founder] can do is find good people to start with”

If there is a magic number for a cofounding team, that magic number would probably be 2. Human beings are pair-bonding creatures. We are designed to operate that way. A co-founder should be strong in areas you are not. In terms of responsibilities, if there is any one right answer that answer would be Development and Business/Sales. One person builds the product and the other sells or brings it to market. Another way to think about it is someone who's inward focusing and someone who's outward focusing, and it's very important to realize that both of these are equally important jobs.

Finding a cofounder is not always easy and it often means moving outside of your circle of friends but ask any cofounder why they chose each other and the majority will say chemistry and complement it shouldn’t be forced because starting a company is lonely, thankless, and costly. It will test the deepest fibers of your being; therefore, it could easily be considered the most important element of next entrepreneurial adventure.

At Co-founder Club we are the connector in your network to line up meet and greets with complementary co-founders. We propose a unique way of getting to know the greatest number of complementary co-founders by using the highly effective and structured concepts of speed-networking. This is a proven low-pressure environment for one-on-one networking that maximizes the greatest number of introductions to kind of people that can partner with you in founding the next big idea.
