ABSTRACT

The age of digital (crypto) currencies is in its infancy and already we are seeing exciting and novel approaches to solving age old problems around forgery and trust. The most visible technology to have emerged thus far is of course BitCoin with its completely decentralized trust model and block chain based digital ledger. It addresses many of these problems in a very clever and elegant way. But the BitCoin style approach is not without its own challenges.
