Memorial Weekend Camping and Riding
Hosted by ColoradoDirtRiders.org
Details
This should be a great weekend trip. We are going a different direction this year instead of Woodland Park we will be heading west towards grandby area.
We are scheduling this meetup at this time and details will follow as they are decided.
As always........You must have a current OHV registration and a Forest Approved spark arrestor. You will also be required to follow all trail ethics. Visit http://www.staythetrail.org for maps as well as everything you need to know for trail riding in Colorado.
If you have never been to one of our camping trips here are a few tips.
-
This is not a group for those that want to stay up late parting all night. We generally have things quite after 10:30-11:00 (we are there to ride, good times will be had but being considerate is important.)
-
This is a family group and there are always children around please keep language and conversations appropriate.
-
If it is illegal- don't bring it, keep it away from the group.
-
All levels/types of riders are welcome we will be able to accommodate ATV and dirt bikers.
We ask that you please stay current with your RSVP status, remember we are saving you a spot.
Directions:
Take I-70 West to Route 40 West/Berthoud Pass; Go over Berthoud Pass, stay on 40 and go thru Winter Park, go thru Granby. Stay on Route 40 and go North on Hwy 125 just after Granby.
Stay on Hwy 125 about 25.7 miles and take a left on Forest Service Road 106/Willow Creek Road (dirt road). About 1 ½ miles in you will cross a small creek/cattle grate and about another 4-5 miles, you will cross another creek/cattle grate. Take an immediate right after the second creek/cattle grate. We will be camping in a large clearing. There are several open areas so we will set-up in one large enough for the group.
You can fill your water tanks for free at the Shell station on the corner of RT 34 and RT 40 in Grandby (30 miles from campsite), also there is a City Market in Grandby, great for the for filling the fridge.
I will be getting up there on Monday to get us a large area. Would welcome anyone who also would like to arrive early. Cell phone service is limited up that way so please call me prior to the 25th. My number is 720-288-1696. Guy
