Monthly Northside Casual

Every month, a bunch of us get together and swap industry stories, tips and tricks, etc. Everything from one of us grumbling on the market performance of our recent game, to looking for people to hire. WHO KNOWS! Come, eat a scone, and rub shoulders with we geeky few.

I'll be there tonight, but won't make it Friday. Megan, we'll have to sync up another time.

Yo, looks like I won't be able to make it tonight. We're coming down to the last month before Big Stuff Starts To Happen (tm), so I'm kind of battening down the hatches and going into crunch mode.

Hopefully, I'll make it to the next one (with something cool to show), but gotta miss this one.

If anyone needs to talk with me specifically, I'll be part of the presentation this Friday at Westwood. Just grab me after.

Hello I am Zach Bahn, me and my friend come up with many video ideas on our free time. We really want to get our idea out there but as you know we cannot give our idea to bigger companies because they dont take them so we did research. We figured that this group might be able hear our ideas.
If you read this we would like more info about this group and if you want to hear us out.

    thanks

Yo, hey, I know you're into this, but please don't leave a comment on every single event that has nothing to do with that event. This is called "spamming," and it's a bit obnoxious.

We have the discussion forums for a reason. Use them.

The format of the meeting is very casual; we sit around a few close tables and chat about various video-game related things. You can present your ideas (I assume you meant video game ideas?) to whoever will listen, but keep in mind that we ALL have ideas, and we're prone to developing our own ideas first. Also, keep in mind that DEVELOPING an idea is 99.9% of the work; if you haven't developed a game before, there's a tendency to think that once you have a game idea, you've done half the work, but that's not even close. If you're looking for someone to partner with you and make a game, that does happen occasionally if you find the right people. But you need to be willing to stick around and do a significant share of the work. Contributing the idea doesn't count.

If you're just looking for someone to chat with about your ideas, though, then this is the perfect place.
