BlazeJam!

This event will be a global game jam (videogame developers make games in 48 hours) and we will sell the games made during the jam with 100% of the money to be donated to the Pikes Peak American Red Cross (http://www.pparc.org/) and the Colorado Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado (http://careandshare.org/).

This promises to be a lot of fun and our actions and enthusiasm will generate positive media attention for games and local game developers and raise awareness and funds for the victims of our beautiful state. This is a very unique opportunity for you to make a difference with your games.

There will be plenty of freshly prepared, tasty, local food and refreshments donated and delivered to us by local restaurants and possibly foodtrucks throughout the jam!

All skills and skill levels are needed!

Support us with a Like! on Facebook or following us and tweeting about the event to your followers.

Blaze Match is a exciting Match-2 Memory game with a Firefighter theme, built as a homage to those who put their lives on the line to save countless people day in and day out!

But Blaze Match is no simple Memory Match game! With 5 timed difficulty levels and a mix of mind-bending mojo, everybody will find this game fun and challenging, from young children to grown adults!

    "Currently untitled"
-- A fire starts in a foresty neighborhood. Your job is to douse the area with water, putting out flames and preventing houses from burning. This is a tactical fire defense game.

Controls: Click on tiles to place water to either make it harder for fire to spread to that area, or to directly quench the fire.

I guess my lesson is that I shouldn't be so hard on myself... perfectionism crushed my projects.

Hey guys, No one's taken me up on it just yet, but if anyone still needs a little help with some art assets for any of their games tomorrow, just let me know. I'd really like to help with what I can from here. :) Shoot me an email at [masked] if you want to get ahold of me.

I want to come down... but it would take a few hours and that time could be used to improve my project.

We do have a decent number of teams here, though. 5, I think, possibly 6? It's pretty spiff.

Something has come up at the last minute (family surprise visit)... I don't think I will be able to get much done. :,C But I can at least try!

I can't make it Friday night, but I'll be there around 10:00 am Saturday morning. Assuming there's space left, I'll stay all day.

I'd like to do what I can (unable to make it onsite) but probably won't be able to commit the whole weekend... Can I participate in some way at least in part?

    July 5, 2012

  • Kit B.

I've got some prior commitments, but will make myself available on-site late Saturday to help an existing team with the final 24 hours of development.

I’m very sorry, we can’t be part of this event. We will be on vacation this weekend.

    July 5, 2012

  • Marc W.

Alex, sorry, things are changing so fast but are settling now. As you probably saw the event is now in Denver at our familiar haunt: Uncubed. Also this CiGDA event page has now become the official signup site for the event.

    July 3, 2012

  • Marc W.

I'm sorry Nicholas. Yeah, to make the event more easily accessible to more people and to ensure that all the needs for the event could be met Uncubed was selected to be the venue for the onsite BlazeJam. Looking forward to seeing you. We have a lot of great things planned for the onsite event and Uncubed will be well provisioned.

  • Nicholas C.

Wait, so no more Loveland venue? That would have been so nice. I live RIGHT at Centerra. Oh well, I'll drive down.
