Protest and City Council meeting

After protesting at City Hall we will be attending the City Council meeting where they will be hearing and maybe voting on the first reading of the Oil and Gas regulations that were drafted by City Staff.  Public comment will be heard on this and many of us will stand to speak out as we have done in the past.  Our comments are limited to three minutes.  Prior to this event you can email council at [masked] or by calling [masked].  For specific Council members information visit: http://www.springsgov.com/Page.aspx?NavID=4553

We currently have a member who asked Council to pass a resolution (which is simply a stand on an issue- it is non binding but allows the Council members to be ‘on record’ about their stance on an issue.)  Please email or call them and ask them to address this resolution at their informal meeting on Nov. 26th. Our understanding is that this will only get discussed if one of the Councilors brings it up at the informal meeting.  Reaching out to them individually on this may be more effective.  Forcing them to make a choice, publicly between US or the oil and gas companies may shame them into doing what is right.

To see the email and resolution that was sent visit our website www.frackfreesprings.org, hover over the 'how to help' tab and choose 'resolution.

Thank you for getting involved!
