Liz took this photo during our visit to Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary

This Thanksgiving, my family and I will be adopting a turkey from Farm Sanctuary.

The cost is $30 and you'll receive:

  • A special Adopt a Turkey certificate with color photo of and fun details about your new friend
  • A one-year subscription to Sanctuary, their quarterly newsletter

When we visited Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary with the Meetup Group a few years ago, I have to say, the turkeys impressed me the most. They are social, gentle, kind, smart and inquisitive. They truly opened my heart to their sweet disposition.

Here's a short video about a turkey who lived until the age of 9 at Farm Sanctuary and passed away last January. It's an informative video, highlighting their characteristics and sad treatment on factory farms. It's not graphic but rather sweet to watch and wonderful to see the beautiful life these lucky birds now have at Farm Sanctuary.

You can also sponsor animals (including turkey's) at our local Colorado sanctuary, Peaceful Prairie. Here's a link to their sponsorships:

That was so sweet Shannon and I think very effective. Thanks for sharing, and please don't forget to send your kale chips recipe when you can! ;-)
