Colorado Springs, CO
Pikes Peak Herb Association presents:
SATURDAY, June 26st 2010:
EDIBLE & MEDICINAL PLANT HERB WALK
Botanist and local author of A COMPLETE AMATEUR BOTANIST’S GUIDE TO PLANT IDENTIFICATION, Chris Frederick, will be leading us on an informative walk identifying edible & medicinal native plants. Chris has taught local plant identification classes and over the years has taught instructors at the survival school at the Air Force Academy, worked with the Boy Scouts of America and led walks for the Park and Rec’s Nature Center. Chris was one of the founding members of the Pikes Peak Herb Association and is a wild food enthusiast.
Note: We had a veg booth by Chris at the Herbfest and got to talking to him. It's very interesting what you can do with native plants that you would not normally think of eating.
