Re: [bookclub-1535] Wonderful response - sorry room is not larger1

I am unable to attend tomorrow night's meeting, it being a 45 minute drive from my house, as I have to wait for my boyfriend to get home from work at 6p so that he can keep our baby girl while I'm gone. I can easily make meetings downtown or in the Forest Acres area in the future, if those meeting places can be arranged.

I am in the group of ladies wanting to discuss our books thoroughly at each meeting, though I'd like some time to get to know other women in the group as well... I assume that part will just come naturally as we spend these monthly evenings together. Perhaps we could have a book meeting each month when we finish a book, then more of a social get together sometime in the middle of each month (hopefully at a member's house) to discuss how the book is going as well as just spend social time together...?? Just a suggestion, of course that may be just too much to schedule!

Hope to see you all next month :)

Just in the past couple of days, I've had a lot of people wanting to attend our meeting tomorrow night.  Because of the size of the room, we are unable to take more, and I'm very sad about this.

One thing that must be considered at the meeting tomorrow night is whether we should have more than one group, and I am eager to hear your thoughts about that.  There are those who prefer a group more focused on book discussions (and I fall into that group), and there are those whose interests are for more social activity.  There are those who don't want to travel far, and those who don't mind a 30-minute drive.  There are those who want to visit the better restaurants, and there are those who don't mind simpler fare or potluck at members' homes.  So, it may be worthwhile considering other options.

Please let your thoughts be known.

Patty
