February 2011 Columbus Vegan Meetup at Starliner Diner!

"A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...."

Okay, well. It's not really that far... just a hop, skip and a space warp over to... Starliner Diner (http://www.starlinerdiner.com/)!

Use the force to navigate to our next gathering, which will take us outside of Columbus proper... back, once again, to the nether reaches of this unique, colorful, eclectic, and family-owned (over 15 years!) restaurant located in Hilliard.

It's against my programming, but I can help you take the guesswork out of the various vegan variations on hand. The following options will be available upon arrival:

Southwestern Veggie Salad - Pan seared vegetables tossed in light Balsamic vinegar, soy sauce blend on flour tortilla with black beans, shredded lettuce, tomato and tomatillo wedges. Served with cilantro lime dressing topped with fresh cilantro - $9.00

Fried Plantain Slices w/salsa (or vegan ranch dressing “a la Doug”) - $6.00

Fresh Sweet Potatoes and Corn Tamales - appetizer, $7.00; dinner, $8.75

Vera Cruz Salad - Romaine lettuce, sliced tomato, tomatillo, avocado, tossed with fresh lime juice, cilantro, and olive oil - Small, $5.00; Large, $7.00)

Vegetable Pizza Bread Sandwich served with tortilla chips and salsa - $8.00

Big Vegetable Burrito served with black beans and rice - $8.75

Cheeseless Veggie Pizza - Smoked chile sauce, zucchini, red onion, fresh tomato, mushroom, corn, garlic, herbs - $9.50

Angel Hair Pasta with tomatoes, garlic, mushrooms, fresh spinach, balsamic dressing, olive oil - $11.50

Pan Roasted Vegetables - Served with black beans on steamed rice - $12.00

Since this is not a pre-pay event and... 'SPACE... the final frontier'... is limited, if you RSVP 'Yes', please be sure to update your response if your Jedi path changes and you are unable to attend.

Provide Starliner Diner with a final head count, we will... after the RSVP deadline.

...ahem... anyway...

In addition, if you'd like to attend but don't have a landspeeder or a homing spider droid close at hand, please state such in the comment box when you RSVP. On the flip side, if you're able to give a wookie a ride in your ornithopter, please indicate such in the same manner. Yay for podpooling!
