April 2012 Vegan Meetup at Banana Leaf!

Hello!

For April's event, we are heading to a local Indian venue: Banana Leaf! The owner Kamal has told me he plans to make this a very memorable event for our group.

According to Kamal, the usual Sunday Lunch buffet is $14.94 per head (includes taxes), but they will not take service charge which we normally have for group of 6 or more. Gratuity will be optional (please tip them, if you can, for all the work they will be doing for our group! :) ).

Our buffet includes 7 appetizers, 3 curries, lentils , spl basmati rice, specialities of breads  includes gluten free breads also, 2 desserts and mango juice, sodas. The entire buffet will be VEGAN. He will also give us the entire menu to circulate .

Here is some information about Banana Leaf taken from their website:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Banana Leaf is a family-owned-and-operated vegetarian and vegan restaurant that is run by people who love good food. We serve a variety of unique vegetarian dishes cooked with fresh spices that are ground in house, and many of our dishes are gluten free. We are the only restaurant (That we know of!!) that makes fresh Chaat items right in front of you.  Our Buffet, Endless Meal as well as our extensive A La Carte offering are guaranteed to raise the bar as far as Vegetarian food goes.
About Us
We take total pride in preparing all spices and ingredients used in our food right here in our kitchen. With collective experience of more than 50 years in creating unique vegetarian items, and 3 years at this location, our chefs use carefully chosen ingredients to provide you with a balanced yet sumptuous meal. We are located behind Johnny Buccelli's in the strip across from the Micro Center.
    It was great being around other Vegan families. I loved the advice I received about keeping my son on the Vegan way of life once he enter school.
    what is the price for this buffet?
    April 18, 2012
  • Jennifer
    Sara, It seems to be. However, I have noticed only about 30% of those who RSVP actually show up. Keep checking your status, because people's plans change and they drop the closer the event comes. :)
    Is this normal for a wait list? I just heard about this today and would really like to come to meet with "like-minded" individuals. I was unaware any vegan groups were in cbus.
    Hi Jane, Checking on the buffet but it's my understanding it will be the buffet. I can't do evening events most of the time with my schedule.
    can we sometimes have some evening events instead of so early
    is this a buffet or will there be a set price
    Just a little FYI, Banana Leaf isn't actually South Indian. The owner (and the food) is Gujarati (NW India), but they do offer some South Indian food (like dosa and vada).
