Hi!

Hope everyone is doing well. The Annual Thanksgiving Potluck is shaping up to be another great event! Friendly faces you know, food you love, and a wonderful time together! A perfect opportunity to get together with long-time members, recent regulars, first-timers, vegetarians, vegans, and those just thinking about trying it out! Plus, this year we'll also be helping out a good cause -- the Mid-Ohio Food Bank! This year's pot-luck will be held on Sat, Nov 13 at 12:30pm in the Dublin Library. The event is free -- just bring a dish to share (vegan preferred, so everyone can enjoy), a place setting for you and your guests and a food donation for the Mid-Ohio Food Bank. Click here to sign up or get complete details: http://www.meetup.com/ColumbusVegetarianMeetup/calendar/14564611/

In addition, there are TONS of other activities and events going on! If you have the opportunity, be sure to take in one or more of the following:

Fri, Oct 22 through Thurs, Oct 2, check out "The Elephant in the Room" at the Drexel. This documentary is about the controversial American subculture of raising the world's most dangerous animals as household pets. Director Michael Webber follows the journey of two men at the heart of the issue. Click here for show times and more information: http://www.drexel.net...

Sun, Oct 24 through Sun, Oct 31, Columbus Vegan Week. Mercy for Animals has collaborated with several Columbus restaurants for some great dining options! Check out what's available and make plans to take advantage of some of the good deals and great food! Participating Columbus restaurants include: The Columbus Brewing Company, Dirty Franks, Knead, Betty's, Surly Girl Saloon, Tip Top Kitchen and Cocktails, and others. For complete details go to: http://www.columbusveganweek.com/

Tues, Oct 26, MFA presents: "The World Peace Diet" lecture with Dr. Will Tuttle. Dr. Tuttle will give a presentation on his groundbreaking book, "The World Peace Diet," which makes connections between our culture, food and a broad range of psychological, social, spiritual, health, and environmental problems. Vegan snacks will be provided. Event takes place at the Arlington Public Library at 2800 Tremont Rd on Tues, Oct 26, from 6:30 to 8:30pm.

Wed, Oct 27, St. James Tavern is joining in on Columbus Vegan Week by hosting a potluck starting at 7:30pm. Bring in a vegan dish, dessert or snack and you'll receive $.50 off all Bell's beers on tap.

Sun, Nov 21, Mercy for Animals and Sunrise Sanctuary are presenting a Vegan Thanksgiving Potluck of their own! This community-wide event is a great opportunity to network, meet and greet others in the veggie community, and enjoy a good meal! Mercy for Animals will be making a presentation and will have Vegetarian Starter Kits and other resources available. For complete details, check out www.mercyforanimals.org.

Whew! Now that's a lot of stuff!

If you have any questions or if you know of events that may be of interest to other members, just let me know. Until next time, be sure to check out some of those great restaurant deals, gather up some canned goods, and look forward to seeing you in November!

Take care,

Dan
