Welcome foodies!

This group is for anyone who is looking for foodies with character to simulate the ITV ‘Come Dine with Me’ experience for each other in/around London.

The idea of hosting a dinner party for strangers without the incentive of prize money or a TV debut may not appeal to everyone – which is fair enough.

But for those who have thought: I’d love to do that just for the fun of it and to meet some new people – this group is for you!

The idea would be sign up to the group now, and pop back occasionally over the coming weeks and months to see how the group grows and when dinner dates start to emerge.

An advantage of this voluntary format means you can select your guests. And promote yourself as a perfect guest/fellow host. So, please say a bit about yourself/your interests when you sign up – describe your ideal dinner party food, guests and interests. (Also mention the days/times/areas that will work well for you.)

When you’re in the mood to host a dinner and attend others’, look through other members’ information and approach a few people with an invite and see what you can set up. Identify three or four people you’d like to welcome for dinner and hopefully you’ll gain their agreement to participate and reciprocate your invitation. Or, set up a dinner with an open invitation to members of this group and select guests from those who RSVP. (When you’re invited to attend a dinner – please RSVP!)

It’s not necessary to host dinner for each other on consecutive nights but it is expected that you return others’ hospitality. And, in the short-term, demonstrate your appreciation for an invitation directly: take a gift along for your host and take your choice of drink for the meal.
