To record biodiversity observations and to make that information readily available to everyone, we have set the farm up as a project on the iNaturalist system.

This open system is available to anyone using a desktop version and on Android and iPhone devices via an iNat app. There is no cost for using the system, and there are no advertisements on the system.

You can download the app and set up your profile in advance, or at the orientation session at the Plymouth Holiday Inn meeting room.

10 a.m. - We will have an optional morning classroom session at the Plymouth Holiday Inn meeting room for persons who want guidance in using the iNaturalist system in the field. 840 US Highway 64 W; Plymouth 27962 (252 793 4700) (Behind the Bojangles restaurant)

11:30 a.m. - Break for lunch. If we finish with the orientation session at the Plymouth Holiday Inn meeting room early, we may go straight to the farm and have lunch delivered.

2 p.m. - Meet at the farm to walk the farm in smaller groups - - woods, borders, swamp, and sound shore to find, identify, photograph and enter species into the farm project on iNat. We hope to have experts in attendance to help with identifying our observations.

It is not necessary that you "join" iNat, as there should be ample persons with connected mobile devices that have the iNat app loaded to enter the observations. Of course, you may enjoy it if you do.

We recommend that you:

1. Wear shoes suitable for fields and woods, or knee boots if you wish to pursue plants in the swamp.

2. Bring charger cords for your mobile device.

3. Bring your favorite ID guide books.

4. Bring binoculars or a camera if you like.
