This Meetup has free, short community learning and networking events in topics that help build a better world.

Current topics include the major social media platforms, sustainability, profit sharing, positivity, empowered work places, and the social design of organisations.

The main social media platforms we focus on at the moment are Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Facebook Pages, and Pinterest. Where relevant, courses will include relevant add on platforms. For example, with Twitter, we will be presenting on add-ons that facilitate building your online network and following.

Needless to say, we see social media as a key tool for leveraging the speed at which a better world can be built, as well as helping you have fun and build friendship and social activities in the process.

Our events are short workshops that start and finish with networking, drinks and snacks. We hold the events at venues that have Wi-Fi, plus refreshment facilities. For example, our favourite venue for central Melbourne is just on the outskirts of the city, at a seminar room in a pub. The seminar room includes a bar for before and after!

You are encouraged to Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), and connect to the Wi-Fi. The social media events focus on hand-on discussion where you can build or improve your skills with the platforms, as well as learn new strategies for applying them to building a better world... however you choose to interpret that idea.

The formal part of the Workshop will be 1-1.5 hours, with drinks, snacks & chatting for say a half hour before and/or after.

At the Meetup Workshop events, there is a Facilitator who will present the course or workshop, lead the role plays and hand-on learning, lead discussions of the material, and provide relevant notes via online or offline means.

Participants will also be encouraged to buddy up with folk in the course with whom they can share learning and motivation.

In a rapidly accelerating world, and a world that needs some help along the way, we are looking for ways to help you speed up your learning in key areas, have fun and meet new folk in the process.

We welcome participation from other organisations, either non-profit or for profit, including other Meetups that want to cross list events.

Persons who are interested to present workshops in any of the areas listed above, or related areas, are also welcome.

Please contact an Organiser.
Meetups can and will be done anywhere in the greater Melbourne Metro region, bordered by say Geelong, Ballarat, Seymour, and the edge of the Valley. Please also get in touch with an Organiser if you would like to request a free Learning / Networking Event in your area, and have either a crowd or a venue.

The main trainer or facilitator is a professional trainer with extensive qualifications and experience.  Details available on request.

Bill

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
