We are currently looking for a regular space and time, maybe Monday nights, to dance in.  Please email me if you have an idea or a contact at a possible place. 

 

Current gatherings every other Monday: Movement and Sound Improvisation ~ Bring your voice, instruments and noise-makers.  Dancers become musicians to create the environment with sounds and silence. We will alternate between free improvisation and “scores”-- predetermined structures to shape our improvisation.

Past/Future: Ecstatic Dance ~ a free form conscious dance where movement expands, spirit activates, boundaries melt, boredom ceases, creativity breaks out, hope happens, beauty flows, communities collaborate, ritual is reinvented, harmony resonates. The beat deepens as an electronic tapestry of world rhythms weave us together as individuals within a greater family.

Past/Future:  Contact Improvisation ~ Jam with a mini-class and guided warm-up. These sessions are perfect for people new to this form, as well as experienced dancers. Contact improvisation explores the extended possibilities for playing with gravity that appear when two or more dancers share weight as well as physical touch.

Past/Future: Free Dance with prerecorded music. Host and DJ-- Aaron Ford. We begin with a sitting meditation, followed by a personal warm-up and open dancing. Tune into your inner impulses and allow them to move you.  Dance solo, dance with a partner, dance with the whole room.

*You can attend as a “drop in” or you can join our dance collective.  

Drop in rate: $10-$12, sliding scale.

Collective rate: $30-$55, sliding scale, paid in advance for 6 weeks.
