The Barwon South Community Engagement Community of Practice (CoP) aims to enhance the skills, knowledge and networks of people working in community engagement.
Our members have diverse backgrounds, including community development, community engagement, facilitation, communications, community education and public affairs.
They work in a range of areas including the environment, youth, rural communities, the government sector, not-for-profit, community safety, education, planning and the arts.
We meet every second month. New members are always welcome.
Each meeting includes an ice breaker activity, a special topic, a small group reflection on members' community engagement successes & challenges and a light lunch.
The CoP is driven by its members, who set the annual calendar and are encouraged to help facilitate sessions and share their knowledge and experience with other members.
The group currently focuses on the Barwon South region in Victoria, Australia.
This includes the City of Greater Geelong, Borough of Queenscliffe, Wyndham City Council, Surf Coast Shire, Golden Plains Shire, Moorabool Shire, Colac Otway Shire, Corangamite Shire and beyond.
