Review Summer of Data, Mobile Citizen Winners, and Recap Broadband Conference

Details

We've got a full agenda for our next meetup:

Review the Connect Chicago Summer of Data

We'll review all of the great info from the Connect Chicago Summer of Data (http://weconnectchicago.org/connect-chicago-summer-of-data/).

This summer we sent seven teams of people out to all 258 Connect Chicago locations (http://locations.weconnectchicago.org/#/?view_mode=list). They took 1,087 photos (http://www.flickr.com/photos/weconnectchicago), updated almost every location detail page, and conducted 197 interviews with key staff in your centers. We'll review all of this info and talk about how your work fits into the City's Technology Plan (http://techplan.cityofchicago.org/), specifically the work around establishing a benchmark and toolkit around broadband adoption and use (http://techplan.cityofchicago.org/initiatives-by-strategy/smart-communities/initiative-4/).

Announce winners of Mobile Citizen accounts

We're raffling off three MobileCitizen (http://mobilecitizen.org/) 4G hotspot accounts, along with one year of free service, for your Connect Chicago location.

We're raffling off three devices, along with one year of free service. To be eligible, you must be an admin for your location's page on Connect Chicago.

If you've already registered as a page admin, you're all set. (Maybe take this time to update your page (http://bit.ly/Wokzaa)!) If you need an admin account, click here and complete this form (http://locations.weconnectchicago.org/admins/sign_up).

If you have questions about registering as an admin or updating your location page, feel free to write back or contact the Connect Chicago team here (http://weconnectchicago.org/contact-us/).

Recap of the Broadband Communities Economic Development Conference

Lastly, we'll download about what we learned from the Broadband Communities Economic Development Conference (http://bbcmag.com/chicago/).

As you can see from the agenda (http://bbcmag.com/chicago/agenda.html), it is chock-full of info of interest to Connect Chicago members

We'll also cover plans to collect and show metrics at all locations.
